5. Abstract

The spiral flute type taps have different wedge angles of two thread flanks. In tapping process, tap must feed its own pitch for good working, but sometimes it can make over feeding because of different cutting forces caused by different wedge angles. The over feeding makes the results of thread thinning oversize hole or be bell mouth. There are some taps used in machine with synchronized feed-control system, but these cutting tools have special thread construction to prevent the basic problem that is over feeding and the threads form being abnormal.
